This fun and very practical
workshop is designed to help you develop your ability to create a character.
Course leader Mhari Gallagher will guide you through character development
techniques including:
Stanislavskian acting technique
Jacques Lecoq’s 7 levels of tension
Prepare to be challenged throughout this active day. It has been designed
for those with some acting experience, aiming to build on your existing
knowledge and skills. Discover ways to bring a character to life and make
it your own. Techniques will be demonstrated by Mhari’s team, and
you’ll have plenty of opportunity to try them yourself.
Mhari Gallagher has an MA in Theatre Direction. She has worked as a freelance director and workshop leader, and since October 2006, has been Education Manager at Cambridge Arts Theatre. Mhari has designed and delivered workshops for companies including Cheek By Jowl, The Birmingham Stage Company and The National Theatre.
